Cordoba Series 90% Wool 10% Cotton Handwoven Kilim – Ivory

The Cordoba Series Handwoven Kilim is a natural and durable kilim collection made from a blend of 90% wool and 10% cotton. Crafted from hand-spun New Zealand wool, this kilim offers a fine, lightweight, natural foundation with its pile-free flatweave construction and fringed edges. The natural warmth of wool and the softness of cotton combine with a modern texture to add a warm, contemporary character to any space. This variant features a soft and elegant appearance with a modern ivory-toned pattern.

What Are New Zealand Wool and Cotton?

Wool and cotton are two natural fibers derived from nature. New Zealand wool is considered among the highest-quality wools in the world thanks to its natural whiteness, softness, and long fibers; it provides warmth, is flexible, and retains its shape under heavy use. Cotton, meanwhile, is a natural plant fiber known for its softness and breathable structure. When these two fibers come together, the kilim offers both the warmth and fullness of wool and the comfortable texture of cotton. The Cordoba Series is woven from hand-spun New Zealand wool using the pile-free flatweave technique; its fringed edges and modern pattern give it a contemporary character.

How Should a Wool Kilim Be Cleaned?

Cordoba Series 90% wool handwoven kilims should only be cleaned by professional rug-cleaning companies. Due to the natural wool fibers and fringed edges, washing at home or cleaning with large amounts of water is not recommended. For daily care, use a low-suction vacuum cleaner without allowing the fringes to get caught in the vacuum, helping preserve the kilim’s texture, colors, and shape for a long time.

Add natural warmth and a modern touch to your living spaces with the Cordoba Series ivory handwoven kilim. Hassle-free returns are available within 14 days of delivery. For more options, explore our wool rugs and handwoven rugs collections.

Protect Your Rug’s Elegance
A careful care routine should be adopted to preserve the original splendor and silky texture of Carpetdocia’s handwoven, natural-fiber creations—pieces that add value to your living space—for generations to come.

Immediate Action and Liquid Spills
When a liquid is spilled, timing is the most critical factor. Using a clean, slightly damp cloth, remove the liquid from the surface by gently blotting only—never rub. Always work in the direction of the rug’s pile (the natural direction in which the fibers lie). Rubbing can damage the structure of delicate fibers such as TENCEL™ and viscose. If in doubt, stop immediately.

Routine Care and Light Balance
For your weekly cleaning routine, always use vacuum cleaners with low suction power. High-powered upright vacuums and stiff brushes can damage the natural structure of handwoven yarns. To balance the natural fibers’ reaction to light and prevent uneven color changes (fading), we recommend changing the direction of your rug every 2 to 6 months.

Expert Care (Professional Cleaning)
Delicate materials such as handwoven fibers, TENCEL™, viscose, and New Zealand wool should not come into contact with household chemical cleaners. These products can irreversibly damage the rug’s silky sheen and structural integrity. For deep cleaning, seek assistance only from professional rug-care centers specializing in natural fibers.

Washing Instructions
The delicate pieces in the Carpetdocia collections are not suitable for machine washing due to their construction. (Only specific models clearly marked “Washable” in their names may be washed in household machines using a low-temperature, delicate cycle.)
