What Are Wool and Cotton?
Wool and cotton are two natural fibers sourced from nature. Wool is an animal fiber obtained from sheep, known for its warmth, flexibility, and durability. Cotton is a natural plant fiber recognized for its softness and breathability. When these two natural fibers come together in a rug, it offers both the warmth and fullness of wool and the soft, healthy texture of cotton. The handweaving craftsmanship adds a unique and long-lasting character to this blend.

How to Clean a Wool Rug?
Milano Series wool and cotton handwoven rugs should only be cleaned by professional rug cleaning companies. Due to the natural fiber content, home washing or cleaning with excessive water is not recommended. For daily maintenance, using a vacuum cleaner with low suction helps preserve the rug’s texture, colors, and shape for a long time.
Add natural warmth and elegant style to your living spaces with the Milano Series ivory handwoven rug. Unconditional returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery. For more options, you can explore our wool rugs and handwoven rugs collections.
Protect Elegance
A delicate care routine should be adopted to preserve the original splendor and silky texture of handwoven and natural fiber Carpetdocia pieces that add value to your living space for generations.
Immediate Action and Liquid Contact
Timing is the most critical factor in case of possible liquid spills. Use a clean, slightly damp cloth to gently blot the liquid from the surface without rubbing. Always perform this action in the direction of the carpet’s nap (the natural direction of the fibers). Rubbing can damage the shape of delicate fibers like TENCEL™ and viscose. Stop the intervention immediately if you have any doubts.
Routine Care and Light Balance
Always prefer vacuum cleaners with low suction power in your weekly cleaning routine. High-powered upright vacuums and stiff brushes can damage the natural structure of handwoven yarns. To balance the reaction of natural fibers to light and prevent regional tone differences (fading), we recommend changing the orientation of your carpet every 2 to 6 months.
Expert Touch (Professional Cleaning)
Noble textures such as handwoven, TENCEL™, viscose, and New Zealand wool should not come into contact with household chemical cleaners. These products can irreversibly damage the silky shine and structural integrity of the carpet. For deep cleansing, support should be sought only from professional carpet care centers specialized in natural fibers.
Washing Instructions
Delicate pieces in the Carpetdocia collections are not suitable for machine washing due to their structure. (Only specific models clearly labeled "Washable" in their name can be washed in household machines on a low heat and delicate cycle.)
