Center the rug

In small living rooms, keep the furniture outside the rug, leaving an equal distance on all sides. The rug sits under the coffee table like a breathable island, making the room feel more spacious. For this setup 160 × 230 or 140 × 200.

Front legs on the rug

In a medium-sized living room, place only the front legs of the sofas and armchairs on the rug. This visually unifies the seating area without making the room feel smaller. The setup that works most often: 170 × 240 or 200 × 300.

All furniture on the rug

In large living rooms, place the entire seating group on the rug. Leave at least 20 cm of rug around the furniture; otherwise, the pieces will extend beyond the edge and the arrangement will look untidy. 240 × 340 or 250 × 350.

Corner sofa alignment

If you have a corner sofa, align its inside corner with the rug’s corner. The remaining rug surface accommodates the coffee table and walkway, creating balance. 200 × 300 or in a larger living room 240 × 340.

Frame the furniture

In open-plan layouts with two facing sofas, the rug should frame the entire seating area. Leave 25–45 cm of visible floor between the wall and the rug on all sides. The dimensions of this setup 300 × 400.

Round or square table

For a round table seating 4–8 people, the rug should remain under the chairs even when they are pulled back. Q 200 is the safe choice; Q 160 works only with small tables. Q indicates the diameter.

Table for 6 people

Add 75 cm to each side of a 90 × 160 cm table. When the chairs are pulled out, their back legs should still remain on the rug; otherwise, they will catch on the edge every time someone gets up. Result: 240 × 340.

Use the same calculation for a 100 × 200 cm table 250 × 350 provides. If the dining area is not separated from the living room, the rug clearly framing the table separates the two areas.

Large dining table

A rug should be generous beneath a long table for 8–10 people. 300 × 400 leaves room for chair movement, serving, and passage around the table at the same time.

Small bedroom

In narrow rooms, slide the rug under the lower third of the bed; 40–60 cm of rug should be visible at the foot. 160 × 230 is sufficient. Alternative: symmetrically on both sides 80 × 150.

For a double bed with a base, the rug should extend two-thirds of the way under the bed and pass in front of the nightstands. Leave 60–70 cm of walking space on both sides. Size: 200 × 300.

With a large bed base, the rug should extend equally on both sides; if the symmetry is disrupted, the room will look unbalanced. 240 × 340, in very large rooms 300 × 400.

The Oushak Carnaval Series consists of modern Oushak rugs handcrafted from 100% natural Lyocell (TENCEL™). The silky texture and natural sheen of TENCEL™ fibers add an elegant and luxurious atmosphere to your living spaces. The fringed edge finish offers a classic look, while the 7.5 mm pile height creates a soft and comfortable surface. With 168,000 knots and a weight of 3300 g/m², each rug is carefully woven with a dense structure for long-lasting use. This variant features a modern Berber-inspired design with a fine dotted texture on an aqua-gray background and multicolored diamond (rhombus) motifs. Diamond motifs are traditionally used in Berber and Anatolian textiles as symbols of protection and abundance.

TENCEL™ is the registered brand name of the lyocell fiber produced by the Austrian company Lenzing AG. When a liquid is spilled, timing is the most critical factor. Using a clean, slightly damp cloth, remove the liquid from the surface by gently blotting only—never rub. Always work in the direction of the rug’s pile (the natural direction in which the fibers lie). Rubbing can damage the structure of delicate fibers such as TENCEL™ and viscose. If in doubt, stop immediately.

Routine Care and Light Balance
For your weekly cleaning routine, always use vacuum cleaners with low suction power. High-powered upright vacuums and stiff brushes can damage the natural structure of handwoven yarns. To balance the natural fibers’ reaction to light and prevent uneven color changes (fading), we recommend changing the direction of your rug every 2 to 6 months.

Expert Care (Professional Cleaning)
