The New Zealand Series Handwoven Rug is made from 100% teased New Zealand wool and offers a premium experience with its natural sheen and soft texture. With a 13 mm pile height and a density of 4750 g/m², it creates a plush, warm, and comfortable surface. Designed for those who appreciate understated elegance, this series makes a refined statement in spaces such as living rooms, lounges, and bedrooms. This variant comes in a deep, dark anthracite (slate) shade, adding sophisticated and dramatic depth to the space.
What Is New Zealand Wool?
New Zealand wool is one of the natural wool types with the highest quality standards in the world. Sourced from sheep raised in New Zealand’s clean pastures and favorable climate, this wool is known for its long, fine, and lustrous fibers. It is naturally soft, durable, moisture-regulating, and resistant to dirt. Wool fiber is also a natural temperature regulator: it keeps you warm in winter and provides a cool feeling in summer. In the New Zealand Series, 100% New Zealand wool combines with handwoven craftsmanship to create a long-lasting surface that is both warm and eye-catching with its natural luster.
What Does Teased Wool Mean?
Teased (combed) wool is a type of wool produced by carefully combing and straightening the fibers. This process removes short and tangled fibers, creating a smoother, shinier, and more durable yarn. As a result, the wool surface gains a silky sheen and develops a denser, fuller texture. The New Zealand Series’ substantial structure, with its 13 mm pile height and weight of 4750 g/m², is also achieved through this teased wool.

How Should a New Zealand Wool Rug Be Cleaned?
New Zealand Series 100% wool handwoven rugs should only be cleaned by professional rug-cleaning companies. Since natural wool fibers can be affected by water and excessive moisture, washing at home, machine washing, or wet cleaning is not recommended. For daily care, use a low-suction vacuum cleaner and gently dab any stains with a slightly damp cloth to preserve the rug’s softness, sheen, and colors for a long time.

Protect Your Elegance
To preserve the original splendor and silky texture of Carpetdocia’s handwoven and natural-fiber creations that add value to your living space for generations, you should adopt a careful maintenance routine.
Immediate Action and Liquid Spills
When a liquid is spilled, timing is the most critical factor. Using a clean, slightly damp cloth and never rubbing, gently blot the liquid from the surface. Always work in the direction of the rug’s pile (the natural lay of the fibers). Rubbing can damage the structure of delicate fibers such as TENCEL™ and viscose. If you are unsure, stop immediately.
Routine Care and Light Balance
For your weekly cleaning routine, always use vacuum cleaners with low suction power. High-powered upright vacuum cleaners and stiff brushes can damage the natural structure of handwoven yarns. To balance the reaction of natural fibers to light and prevent localized tone differences (fading), we recommend changing the direction of your rug every 2 to 6 months.
Expert Care (Professional Cleaning)
Noble materials such as handwoven fibers, TENCEL™, viscose, and New Zealand wool should not come into contact with household chemical cleaners. These products can irreversibly damage the rug’s silky sheen and structural integrity. For deep cleaning, seek assistance only from professional rug-care centers specializing in natural fibers.
Washing Instructions
